First stop -- Toulon, France

In case you are not quite sure where it is!

When you are on vacation, you want to sleep in, but most of our mornings started out early...hmmm...
We started with a nice breakfast in the Provence dining room at about 8:00am before heading out to see what Toulon, France had in store for us. Shortly after breakfast, we disembarked for the morning and took a cab to the cable car. The cable car, or telepherique as they say in France, would take us to the top of Mont Faron. The views were incredible to say the least. I however, was thankful to be back on solid ground at the top of the mountain!

yeah...not a fan of heights!

The view of the harbor. Absolutely breathtaking!

Did I also mention that we were sharing the cable car ride with what seemed to be field trip day for the local 9-10 year olds? I guess I just can't get enough of the fourth graders!
Once at the top, we explored the old war fort, as well as the memorial dedicated to the Allied landings in Provence in 1944, and the liberation of Toulon.

another view of the port on the way back down...just because it is so beautiful!

After exploring the top of Mont Faron for a while, we decided to take the ride back down and explore the town. We walked through a fairly large open street market, which sold everything from fresh produce, to shoes, to undergarments.

you can see how crowded the street was!

We had a quick snack and French Espresso on the market, then headed over walk along the wharf. It was a beautiful town, but did not have a whole lot for us to do. After a few hours we decided to head back to the ship for a late lunch at Horizons Court Buffet and head to our staterooms for a lazy afternoon.

After some rest and relaxation, we headed to the Bordeaux Dining Room for dinner. We sat at a big table with 4 other couples that we didn't know. It is always fun to get to know new people, however, sharing a meal with complete strangers can be a little awkward! After dinner, we went to the Princess Theater to enjoy the evening entertainment of magic. The food and entertainment were spectacular!

In the Atrium, dressed for dinner.

After dinner, mom, dad, and Jeremy went to the casino for a little fun while I went back to the stateroom...there was no denying it, I had a cold! A good nights rest was just what I needed, I seemed to be better the next morning, which was a good thing because the Leaning Tower of Pisa was not going to hold itself up!

Stay tuned for our next exciting day in Livorno, Italy!!
